The National Drug and Alcohol Screening Association (NDASA), of which TSS is a founding member, recently shared some positive news for those committed to maintaining safe, drug-free workplaces.

After discussions with NDASA through much of 2020, the House Judiciary Committee agreed to add language to the The Marijuana Opportunity, Reinvestment, and Expungement (MORE) Act that will allow the U.S. Department of Transportation to continue to test workers in safety-sensitive jobs for marijuana use.

The MORE Act, which would decriminalize cannabis on the federal level, passed in the U.S. House of Representatives in early December. It is unlikely to pass in the Senate, but this change in language will likely safeguard marijuana testing for federally-regulated workplaces in the future if the bill moves forward.

This is the statement released by NDASA on December 4.
