Can you believe it? It’s almost the end of the year.
This is an important time to make sure all your drug testing documents are in order, that employee lists are correct with TSS, that all your test copies have results attached to them and that they are in a secure file. Remember, all drug testing documentation should be kept for a minimum of 2 years, but 5 is best.
If you are done for the year/season and need to have all employees terminated and your company inactivated, please email or call us to let us know as soon as possible. We cannot assume that you are done. And if you are not removed from the consortium, your people will be picked for randoms and not be available. Then we must choose alternates, which makes it difficult for the entire consortium.
Communication with TSS, on end dates, terminations and employee lists is critical to having a good testing pool that is in top shape!
Make sure to let us know when you have changes in your employee lists, when you are missing results, or when they seem delayed. And of course, notify us when there are any changes within the company such as a DER change or closure for the season.
The 2024 Consortium Memberships packets will be emailed out at the end of November. Please keep an eye out for this very important part of membership. If you are in the consortium year-round with at least one active person, this paperwork will need to be filled out and sent back to us by December 31, 2023. Members that are seasonal will need to fill out the membership when they start up again.
And finally, keep an eye out for big changes in 2024. The final rule to approve oral fluid testing for DOT programs was passed on June 1, 2023. We are waiting for DHSS to approve two labs before we can choose this as a testing method. TSS will keep you posted regarding how we can implement this exciting new method into your programs once DOT-regulated oral fluid testing can begin. (If you are interested on how this change will impact your business, consider joining our webinar on November 14. Learn more.)
TSS appreciates all of you and we look forward to continuing to serve you in the next year!
